Almost hit a deer!
#1
Careful atv'ers and quadders out there, I never thought it could happen, but it almost did. One after noon, was cruising down an old dirt road when rounding a corner, a doe jumped out in front of me, missed her by about a foot. Just drove through Wisconsin, but saw more deer roadside in Minnesota, so their out there and just waiting for a suicidal jump. Who would have thought a deer would jump in front of a quad, but who knows what triggers them to pounce in front of big rigs either. With my HL lift and 27" claws, I probably would have drove right over her anyways....hehehe.

Yep it's enough to get the adrenaline pumping when that happens.
Recently, I was riding a narrow trail pretty fast and as I rounded a corner I slammed on my brakes and slid right up to a full grown cow moose. I was maybe 3 feet from her front legs and sitting just under her head. I knew I was way too close when I could smell her breath. I think it surprised her but she just backed up a few paces and just continued to stare at me. Fearing a charge, I quickly backed to a safe distance. If you have never seen a big moose in person, they are about the size of a Clydesdale Horse.
I know it got my attention

I always see some form of wildlife when I go wheelin. Mostly rabbits, then moose, then deere, then pheasants, and finally coyotes. I've had a partrige dive at me, but I think its babies were near, and I've had moose run out in front of me and run up the trail, so of course I chase 'em (only cuz I think there might be another right behind me). Its pretty exciting, but some times damn scarry, 'specially when an animal that wieghs over half a ton is near by and spooked.
