0% is ok, but when I bought my 02 Dodge ram 3500, the dealer gave another 7% off if I did not use chryslers 0% financing. Was year end Cheq with taxes and fees $200 below window sticker.
In ontarios 15% tax structure i'd would have to have paid 15% tax on the extra 7% if I financed.
So 0% is not always 0%.
But some places this is not the case either.
I too am surprized at the number on here that paid in full.

Gave em a check from insurance co.(stolen quad) + $300 cash. Though I do have 800 credit scores and that only comes from getting and paying off loans. Only takes about 10 minutes to get approved for mortgages and car loans and I recieve lowest possible interest rates available. So some good things do come from financing. Something else I've done is take the 0% til when ever leave my money in a 5+% money market account and then pay the loan prior to being charged interest. In short make your money work for you and the toys will come.

When I bought the Sporty an the Yamaha I didnt have the cash...yet. But I had put my house up for sale and knew I'd make more than enough to cover a couple of four wheelers.
I surfed for the deals and found a dealer who would give me the best prices.
I was getting excited so instead of waiting for my house to sell, I went down to drool and talk numbers.
He said he could get me into both 4-wheelers for just under $11,000. Thats a 2005 SP500HO and a 2005 Wolverine 350 4X4.
I figured by the time I sold my house it'd be winter and I'd have no time to ride so when he started telling me about all the 0% finiancing, 0 payments for 6 months deal, I filled out the applications.
Now my credit was waaaaayyyy over-extended at this time so I didnt expect to get approved. Polaris denied me..said I didnt meet their cirteria..I figured as much...but Yamaha approved me..??
So here was my dillemma I could get two Yamaha's and no Polaris now, or wait till I sold my house.
I was this close to owning a four wheeler!!! But I told them no..I couldnt do it...not for two Yamahas....
I had been dead set on a Polaris Sportsman and if I couldnt get one then I wasnt getting any four wheeler.
So the dealer did some wheeling and dealing and got both 4 wheelers approved through Yamaha financing (As far as yamaha knew I bought a $11,000 ATV and as far as Polaris knew i bought a new ATV with cash) The dealer threw in a $135 helmet for me too.
Anyway, I paid the Yamaha card off as soon as I got the cash from my house and I am getting ready to embark on another adventure in a couple of weeks.

I pay cash for all of my toys as well. I could see the point of financing one to build credit though. Then again I guess it depends on how much other stuff you are financing and your debt to income ratio? Buy a house first and if you live near me get in touch w/ me first as I am a Realtor. LOL.

I was going to pay cash but got an offer from Chase that was 0% until it was paid off on a balance transfer. Put on one card with 0% and then transferrred over to Chase. I'd rather keep my money and let it work for me.

Frankly, I'm suprised HOW MANY people pay cash for their atv's. With anything that depreciates, it's a good idea to own it......rather than finance and pay more and owe more after it has depreciated below the debt amount. I pay cash for all of my toys too, including the hummers. CASH or check. I want it for my price or I'm out the door.

Spider6, I'm on my third H1. One soft top and two wagons. You can't lose money on them if you buy one that is at least a few years old. They actually appreciate in value. Few people know that there have only been 11,000 H1's made. Many are exported, some sold to government agencies(no, not humvees). The Boarder Patrol uses H1's, not humvees. They have something like 130 of them. They are a VERY addictive truck to own. I will probably spend the rest of my life owning and driving them. I think most people that buy one that is a few years old and can appreciate the flexibility of the truck, soon fall in love with them. My trucks cost more than my house. Although I bought the house of about 1/5 of its market value. You can find a few year old Hummer for the price of a new Dodge, Chevy, or Ford.
