Default 700 EFI performance upgrades

Hello all I am new to this post and have found it very informative.
I recently bought an 06 700 EFI and I am wondering if anyone has put a power module on one. My dealer said this would be a good place to start for performance upgrades. I am also looking into a pipe and clutch upgrades. Any info and suggestions would be apprecitated.

Welcome to the forums. I have an 04 700 EFI. I have not got to crazy yet, but a clutch kit is your best bang for the buck on these machines. Take a look at sportsman70003's profile. He has it made when it comes to upgrades. I get a lot of info from him. I am working on the 800 primary clutch upgrade. I will work on the snorkle and exhaust later this month.
I have the White Bros Exhaust and it works well. I am waiting on more plates to ship so I can open it up some more.

I personally have a dalton big wheel clutch kit on my 05 sportsman 700efi with 29.5 inch highlifter outlaws on it, and it pulls them just as good as the factory tires. The clutch kit i have is for oversized mud tires and it gets more power to ground for off the line tourque. When i put my factory tires back on, it'll get with it. A clutch kit is the first thing i would put on it. However there are two types of clutch kits you can get, one for big wheel kits, and one to make it more like a sport bike but not for big wheel kits. It really depends on what you want to get out of your bike. As far as the power commander, i don't have one but my buddy has one on his 800 sportsman and he said he only gained like 6mph more than stock and made the throttle response a little better but not enough to justify paying all of that money on it.

How much trouble is it to install a clutch kit? I have never really worked on a polaris before but id like to learn how to fix things when they break. Not to change the subject (although i am, sorry), did your 29.5's fit on your 700 without having to lift it or put spring spacers on it? No rubbing?

I have not priced out performance mods nor have I checked the difference in price between a 700 and 800. But, I'm wondering if more power is the goal and a more powerful like model ATV is available at time of purchase why the more powerful one is not purchased to begin with?

both of these mods can be done without replacing the gaskets/seals due to them being the same part number as stock 600/700/800 models are all the same part number.

You know you can go out and buy a little toy car if you want to but to some people its a lot more fun to buy a model car that you have to put together, paint, and all that good stuff. Same concept (for me anyway). I like to mess around around with my bike. Gives me something to do, its a hobby.

Yeah but i would buy the sp800 and tinker with that, you know a 900 or 1000cc machine aint too far off.
