Default New Front Springs for 05 SP700EFI?

Jim: I thought the Progressive Springs for the Scrambler would work too so I bought a pair. They didn't fit my 05 Sportsman (too short), so I went with the MV springs.

Have any of you checked into the 31-2007 progressive spring kit that is listed on the progressive webpage for a 2005 700 sportsman. I emailed them and they told me they could not confirm it would fit a 2005 800. Hope this helps.

thats the p/n they gave me for my 2002 sp700, in which case they will NOT work on a 2005 and up sportsman.

Bytor, where did you get your MV7 springs? I searched a few on-line places and found them to be around $93.00 a piece. Sounds like you got a GREAT deal! While I'm sure I'll appreciate the heavier compression rating while riding off road, I'm hoping this will also help when supporting the weight of the plow. Thanks in advance for your help!

Has anyone adjusted your rear springs? Has the adjustment cut down on squatting under heavy acceleration and/or body roll while turning? Mine currently does both and it looks like the rear springs are set on the softest setting.

I've adjusted the preload on mine and it will help but give a choppier ride at times.
I have it one from the top now (stiffest setting).

Hntr: I got them online at discounthondaparts.com. They were $65.50 each, plus shipping. I ordered a bunch of stuff and shipping was $15. Not sure how much it would be for just the springs. Hope this helps.

jimmypsp700 - Thanks for the response. Sounds like I should look into adjusting the preload on mine. Maybe start out one notch at a time and see how it goes.

Bytor - Thanks to you also! I'll take a look at their web site and see if buying more can save me money on shipping. It's always a good excuse to buy more if I can save money by buying more! LOL

Bytor... I just looked at discounthondapart's price for the MV7 springs and they've got them listed for $93.59 w/o shipping. I ended up getting them from my local dealer for $89.00 ea. Can't wait to give 'em a try this weekend. Looks to me like the easiest way to install them is to remove the strut nuts, remove the outer cv joint nut, and jack the bike up. Then install the new springs, axle, and lower the bike down. Shouldn't have to use a strut compressor. I've done it this wat before and it worked pretty good.
