a friend of mine told me he had a 2003 trailboss 330 2wd he baught off of someone who rolled it. It didnt run when he baught it but he put a new plug in and it runs, but only has about 60psi compression, whats wrong with it and what can you do about it to repair it? I want to buy it from him for 800, is it worth it?

Have him try to adjust the valves first.

To what degree are we talking rolled? A light roll, much like mine took, cost me 500 dollars to fix. Check the motor mount in front and see if it is bent. That will give you an idea of how much torque was put on the frame when it rolled. That would be the next question, was the fram damaged? Then I would wonder why my friend isn't fixing it, and selling it for more, or keeping it. If it does turn out to be doa, can your friendship survive that.

Sound like a simple fix, if the compression is that low put a new piston and rings is it, new plugs, and some fresh fuel. Shouldnt cost you more that two to three hundred bucks, maybe more if you have a shop do it for you.

I have one of these and when it gets hard to start, runs bad I checked the comp first time it acted up and it was low but I checked valves and the intake valve was tight. So now I just set the valve a couple times a year and it runs great.

Sounds like a good deal then. Of course, you could always part it out on Ebay. btw, I need the boot from the carb to engine
