ive heard that the 05 predator lacks low end. what would be good mods that would straighten out that problem while still maintaing a good mid range and top end.

as far as a relativly simple cheap set of mods, i would go for a high flow exhuast, high flow intake, Rath Racing header, and have it jetted or sent out to Nicholas Cycle for the carb mod.

For twenty dollars you can regear the front sprocket. This made a huge difference in acceleration and didn't seem to affect my top end too much. For the money that is the best bbang for your buck

First of all, i dont personally think that the predator lacks low end power at all. But i would go with what spyder said plus possibly a CDI box.

Burkie1857- The Predator LE/TLD is a great quad. I have an 05 TLD and love it. The power for the predator is better than the 660. But i am really actually unsure on the 700. Either way, the predator is a GREAT quad. I love it and would make the exact same choice. As for the price, it seems great to me. Maybe you could get it cheaper, i dont really know, but you will not be dissapointed either way.

I would just ride it, and see how it goes. Also break it in well. It tells you how in the owners manual (i think). You might hear a whining noise, but dont worry about that, its only your chain. Also the fan might run a lot, but dont worry about that either since the predators thermostat is set at a really low temperature.

For mods to come, i would not go with a drop in style filter. Get a clamp on style one. They are quite a bit more money but it is WAY better (even though i have the drop in). If you get a pipe, i would go with the HMF and get the full system or just the slip on. I would prefer to get the full system with their head pipe than go with their slip on and raths header, and this is my reasoning. The HMF pipe with HMF header is specially tuned for each other, while the rath maybe a good head pipe it is set up more for the E series/ pure polaris pipe. And the CDI boxes are really pricey but they are really worth it from what i heard. If i were to get one i would go with the Vortex, because it has 10 presets for different types of terrains and its just an AMAZING unit. As far as the nicholas cycle carb mod goes, its an expensive thing that really helps your throttle response, but i heard its a bit pricey. All i can say to that is that if you have extra money to spend, GO FOR IT!

Hope this helps

cr125- thanks for the info. i am still undecided about the predator or the raptor. i am not real happy with the dealer that had the predator. they are sticking on a set up and freight charge of almost 500 bucks. this seems a bit crazy to me.
