Default Thinking of trading up.

I currently have a 2004 Sp 500 HO and I was thinking about going to something with a little bit more grunt. I am considering a SP 700 efi, Griz 660, and King Quad. Should I be considering anything else? I am really torn between the SP 700 and the Griz because I would like the efi but I also would like a lighter rig. So does the King Quad fit both of these? Any reason to go with one over the others? Any input is welcome.

Also what do you think I could get out of my 2004 Sp 500 it has just over 1000 miles and is in really good condition other than the general scratches.

Thanks in advance

Ty

well ive seen the carb 700 and the griz 660 race and its almost neck and neck the 700 just out in front so i would have to say the 700 efi has that little extra grunt your looking for

what kind of "grunt" are you looking for? You say you want a lighter rig, and efi...I know kawi doesnt have efi...but you may want to look into them too...

i know im going to get slammed for this but i dont think the grizz has more "grunt" then the sportsman 500 it is faster but the turm grunt makes me think low end and and thats not what a grizz is about i have also heard alot about how the kingquad falls flat off the line with no real low end power. and yes there is another quad you should consider the bomb 800 and the sportsman 800. from what you say i think the bomb would work out really good for you..

once polaris always polaris, that extra weight keeps it on the ground beleive it or not, unlike yamahammer or susuckie; after all this is a polaris forum,we can talk crab about other brands can't we????????? ha ha. if you want more grunt look no further than the 800efi polaris; as for 800 bomb still to new of a machine to be tried and proofen yet. way out out ''lifes good ''

Thanks for all of the replys.

As far as me saying "more grunt" I want more low to mid range power than what my SP 500 has. As far as speed I don't really care what the top speed is. I wasn't really thinking of considering the kawis becuase of the ride quality that I have heard. So from what I see the SP 700 or SP 800 would fit these conditions best. I guess I will go ride each of them and decide from there.

Thanks for the help

TY

My H.O will run with a griz, most of them anyways, therefore if you want to trade UP, I would suggest sportsman 800, outlander800, and yes, the KQ does have good power, but wouldn't be that big of a difference. I say if you really want to FEEL a difference, 800cc should due it for you

i dont know how much difference there is betweenthe 500 h.o. and the magnum, but when we upgraded from the 500 magnum to the 700 sportsman efi...there was a BIG difference. Currently our 700 is pulling our fish house out onto the lake. (dont know if you know what one is...but watch grumpy old men and that is what they fish in ) I dont know of anything too terribly heavy that we have pulled yet. The bombs also have alot of low end grunt. Our 500 use to pull fully loaded hay wagons up a slight incline...not saying the motor wasnt being worked...but it still pulled it. So you might want to look into the bombs also.
