Default K&N or UNI filter

I had an K&N but found on very dusty outrides the inside of the kone(Pred 04) would be lined with
a file line of dust. Went over to UNI and have been checking, no dust, nothing. I am unfortunatly always the

I put uni's on both my machines, they have worked very well on dusty trails. just make
sure they are well oiled all over, Yes it can get a little messy. I also put a little light grease
or P. jelly inside the opening of the filter were it slides over the tube of the air box in case any dust tries to get by any gaps there.

Don't over oil it either, or it will run rich. If you have a mess in the bottom of your air box, then you are using too much oil. I just spray over all surface and work into the foam a little and install.

Default K&N or UNI filter

FWIW I was able to buy two UNI filters off of ebay as well as a large can of filter oil and a large can of cleaner and a 12 pack of bud light to drink while oiling the filter and installing it, for the cost of a K&N for my scrambler...

Uni filter # 1 11 dollars shipped
Uni filter #2 6 dollars shipped
FIlter Oil 6 bucks
Filter Cleaner 6 bucks
12 Pack of bud light long necks 8.49

Total 37.49 Approximately the cost of a K&N filter... Keep a good watch on ebay for UNI's if thats what you decide on... both of the filters that I bought had 25 dollar pricetags on them when I received them, so I feel like I got a great deal on em.

I ride in mainly dusty conditions and if it isnt dusty its really wet so I figured the Foam was the way to go for me.... Now if I rode mainly sand Id definitely use a K&N... My stepdad uses a K & N on his sportsman 500 but he doesnt ride anywhere as much as I do or even in the same terrain as I do so there isnt really much comparison between his K&N and my UNI.

That's what I say, There's not much difference in performance, so why sacrifice your motor.
