Default Questions before first service ?

maybe you guys could PM each other. the guy said he's new to ATV's and needs some help. it's obvious his dealer didn't educate him very well. it seems as though this is a case of lack of knowledge as opposed to poor machine quality.

gdc23, really sounds like you just need to read the manual and get used to the machine. just like a shift machine where you would use a low gear like first to get over a log you may need to select lo with the belt trans depending on the size of the log. general rule is, when in doubt use lo. if you approach an obstacle in high and come to a stop then slowly ease the throttle you will end up slipping the belt under the engagement rpm and cause it to smoke. if you want to stay in hi range you need to keep the speed up and be aggressive with the throttle so rpms will rise quickly and belt will engage without slipping. if you are a beginner, then lo would be more appropriate allowing you more control of the machine at slower speeds. I run mine in lo most of the time because I'm usually towing something and I prefer to know the belt is always engaged. when shifting you need to be quick and firm as to not get stuck in between gears.

only thing you should be concerned with is the heat difference between grips, minor luxury issue.

the only other thing i could add would be that if you are getting water on your belt by a little water hole then maybe your cover is not sealed properly if this is the case the dealer can check to make sure that is where the water entered the belt case if the seal is bad they should replace it and the belt without hassle dont know if you have kids or not but they like climbing on the bikes and using the belt cover as a step this can cause leakage good luck

Hey gunman457 since there are so many people with problems with their Kawasakis you might want to go to that forum. They may need your help more than us. Just look up to the right, it says Navigation and click on the down arrow, then click on the Kawasaki, it will take you to the proper site. Thanks for your help, bye...
I haven't seen any problem's come up on the VForce in week's. But Polaris get's 50 a day. So I go where people need the help.
Show me 50 2005 scrambler problems in a day...You're compairing one model one year with a fleet of Polaris ATV's. Look, I'm not trying to start a fight, I just think that if you had a problem with your quad, you would like to get some input on how to fix it. Not: "Sounds like you got a good one. just keep your fingers crossed when you go for a ride that you make it back."
Hey, what can I say. gdc23 is having belt and electrical problem's on a brand new ATV. If I was him, I would stop payment on it. To many things wrong for only 10 hours on it. Now do you understand why I said two cross your fingers?

And as for Kawasaki forum, they don't have much going on expect for mod's on other quads. There's not enough action on the Kawasaki forum like there is on the Polaris forum. What can I tell you. It's not my fault that Kawasaki doesn't have a lot of problem's.
Maybe because the only sold like 50 of them and 49 ofthe owner of them don't have computers to complain on. There where probably 500 times more sportsmans sold than Kawi's

I wouldn't know anything about that. I don't have those numbers to argue that one. I'm sure I could, but I don't care. I'm sure Kawasaki sell's more quad's then Polaris does. Do you think the US is the only country Kawasaki sell's to? I'm real sure other country's are buying American made stuff just like they are buying are car's and are product's(dont hold your breath). But I can tell you one thing, Polaris has the most recall's out of all atv company's. If you look them up, they are like a rash all over the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

gunman, we get it, you don't like Polaris, never gets old for you does it. I have read helpful productive post from you so I know you are capable, but the Polaris bashing, be it fact or fiction is really pointless, as is any brand bashing. it's one thing to caution someone reguarding a particular product, but another to take on an anti-Polaris campaign. even though you can give good advise, crawling around this forum slamming Polaris and arguing with riders only portrays you as a pest. I am not judging you or labeling you, but certainly you have greater ambitions than to argue, provoke, and destroy threads.

cheer up and think positive, there's enough negativity and voilence in the world already, this should be a place for comradery and respectful discussion.

gunman, You have a polaris correct? then you have the right to complain about polaris as much as you want. Just try to do it where its relative to the post. this guy needs education on how to use his quad properly and you didnt add any help and thats why you are being flamed.

GDC23, I wouldnt get to frustrated right now. It seems you may have a couple issues that are fixed easily by the dealer and the others as people stated are just learning your machine. Read the manual and keep asking us questions. I would write down those concerns you have and go back to the dealer and have them fix them and\or show you how to operate it if in question.

Hey Polaris guys, check out the Kawasaki site, and then you will know what is really up. I'm done with this guy, not worth my time. I agree that the VForce is a nice ride for what it is, and I hope Gunman457 never has any problems with it. If he does, I don't think Polaris people will jump on the Kawi site and tell him what a mistake he made buying a Kawasaki.

Sorry about jumping in on this post. Sounds like gdc23 just needs to get to know his quad a little better and a few adjustments.

Hey "Gunner" from who you have heard, that people in other countries donīt buy American (or Canadian) stuff.
In my country Polaris have 40% of ATV markets, then comes Bombardier, Yamaha, Honda, Artic-Cat, Suzuki, Kawi and last year some1 started with Linhai(China) This is order here and in Sweden almost same.
Have a nice day and donīt fight, maybe itīs better drive with Kawi than walk.
