Default Oil in water

purchased a 2002 700 twin from my neighbor. I just noticed 1/8 " of oil in the coolant bottle. I emptied and cleaned the bottle. There was also a film of oil in the radiator that I also removed. After about 6 hours of riding It's back, more oil. He had the water pump changed under recall???...he said. Could oil be in the cooling system from the water pump change? I'm going to drain and refill the system this weekend. There is not water in the oil. What troubles do I have?

Default Oil in water

Ive heard of simialar problems in older car engines, its usually from a crack between the bottom end and a watter channel in the block....which would be a worse case scenario

I don't know anything about that motor, but maybe you need to put some silicone on the water pump bolt threads. Maybe the bolt holes go through to the crank case. Just my two cents.
