Default Purge Methanol fuel 2-stroke engines with WD-40?

Has anyone had good luck with WD-40 to purge Alcohol fuel 2-stroke engines?

Talked to some guys today about the subject, that is what they use on 2 and 4 stroke engine after running Methanol Alcohol in their engines.

I got BUBBA BIKE back together and running and I use the BUBBA recommend 110 octane mixed with a 20 to 1 ratio of Klotz BeNol. But yesterday I tried WD-40 just to say I have. I shut the fuel off and just before the bowl was dry I started the WD-40 for about 20 seconds, it ran like it does on a rich oil mix and race fuel, lugging and smoking until it dies.

Anyone have any pro's or con's on the subject?
thank you................handycap

BUBBA BIKE just needed O-Rings replaced in the head.
Let BUBBA build it and I know first hand it will run forever.

The oil helps seal the rings after the Alcohol washes the oil off the cyl walls.

Yes its a good idea to have something lubricate the engine after you are done running it on alcohol.... I used to race karts and our engine builder had us run gasoline witha little bit of oil in it through the engine after we were done racing and before we changed the oil.... that way the cylinder has some lubrication and the rings wont stick.... A bud of mine that I work with races karts and he fogs his engine with wd 40 after running it per his engine builders instruction. It displaces the alcohol and prevents condensation from forming inside the cylinder.... Take it easy

I have to say that I still purge my Banshee with race gas mix. The only thing I do differently now is that if the bike is going to set more than about 2 weeks then I will pull the plugs and spray a generous amount of WD-40 into the cylinders to help out. I also plug the exhaust pipe off to keep moisture out. If the exhaust port happened to be open it can be subject to a lot of humidity, especially in the southern US.

LOL, I wouldnt go that far. There is most definitely a difference in a builder who takes pride in their work and takes a lot of time to insure everything is put together and torqued down correctly. Attention to detail does wonders for engine life.

Handycap you gotta bring the wd-40 Bubba bike to Sahara the first weekend in May. There's going to be a big group of polaris guys and we need to find out where the Bubba bike stands in the polaris world!

The BUBBA BIKE for a stock framed quad stands up, ends up on top of you or winning a lot if someone can stay on her.

I have owned a few 2-strokes in my day, from KDX-175 built enough to take 1st place in a GNC enduro race years ago. I owned KX-250 built to the max, KL-250's stroked to 340cc and 15 to 1 compression to take 1st place at hill climbs. Tecate 3 and more, street bikes that ran 139mph in standing 1/4 mile, Since I have owned the BUBBA BIKE I have riden almost as much on it as my other quad over the last 8 months, I ride daily, every day unless sick. The only thing I don't do on the BUBBA BIKE is pull my 5 foot trailmower like I do with the other 400 listed below. Trust me this Polaris has already lasted a life time for most people. I wanted to find out how many gallons of Methanol it takes to wear out a set of rings or and engine, haven't any answers yet. I ran over 70 gallons of Methanol last summer, I ran 2 gallons on the test run after replacing the 0-rings the other day. I just bought another 110 gallons of Methanol, Polaris holds up great, any way you stack them.

Oh, and the LIFE TIME WARRANTY !
