Default Split brake kit

Anyone out there using the Speedwerx split brake kit? Are there any other companies producing a similar product? Pros/Cons? I ride a lot of steep hillclimbs and would like to be able to apply front brakes only, especially when decending backwards to prevent flipovers. Hasn't happen to me yet, but has got a couple of guys I ride with. Thanks for your help.

I know Rick at Ritter Cycle offers one. Don;t know if it's the same brand or not.

Fireslayer, just talked to Rick about another kit, and mentioned the split brake. He doesn't offer them anymore, but I would still call him. He has a lot of insight that could be helpful, and tell you what to look out for on the kits. Sorry for the bad info, just found out myself.

there was a year of trail boss that had a brake lever on the right hand side of the handle bars.

see if you can find one on ebay after that its just a line to the caliper and a plug for the distribution block.

What about just reversing the two brake lines at the rear caliper. Since the rear brake cylinder does very little. You could switch the lines at the rear caliper and the rear pedal becomes more agressive and the front becomes less agressive. Anyone tried this?

Default Split brake kit

I have a 2003 TB 250, and I wanted my front brakes split too. I unhooked the long steel line from the "t" block up front, removed the line and the stainless flex line, bought a line plug at NAPA, plugged the "t". On the caliper I reused the bolt and banjo washers that were on the flex line and made an aluminum spacer that looks same as the caliper end of the flexline, just to plug that port on the caliper. This makes the hand brake only work on the fronts, and the foot brake only controls the rear. I have had mine this way since it only had 12 hours on it, and I like it. I am thinking about taking the caliper apart, and removing one of the square seals inside to get more fluid behind the piston for a stronger rear brake.
Good luck, I hope this helps... it sure is cheap!
