Default Polaris reliability!

I'm starting to wonder if I made a good choice by purchasing a Polaris ATV. I just bought a new Predator and Sportsman less than 6 months ago and I'm on my 3rd trip back to the dealer with issues. My Pred wouldn't run while on a trip in WVA the dealer found a piece of rubber in the jet. My Sportsman has already had the ECM replaced and now it won't run in high gear and low gear isn't all that low, I suspect a clutch issue. Fortunately, the Sportsman is still under warranty but if your looking to buy a Polaris do your homework, I don't think I would buy another one matter of fact I may trade in after the warranty runs out.

it also seems like polaris has quite a bit of fault between their dealers. alot of the dealers are really crappy. ive owned 3 polaris' and there has never been a single time that ive taken them in for a problem, other than on my SP800, my belt exploded while i was doing about 70 on the street, i later found out that it was a faulty belt. but all is well! i think that polaris products are fantastic, but it seems like there are alot of issues

Default Polaris reliability!

My 1994 400 Polaris had a set of brake pads replaced under warranty, after warranty was out, 8 months after I bought it. Sold with 5600 miles logged on.

My 2000 400 Scrambler 2x4 never had anything go wrong with lots of hours log up.

My 2000 500 Magnum had a speed senser go bad under warranty, Polaris let me do my own warranty work. Sold with 1000 miles, no other issues.

My 2003 400 Trailblazer didn't know it had a warranty, never used it and still riding. Bought all the above new from dealers.

My 1999 416 Sport on Alcohol below did replace o-rings in head once. Been riding her for a year or so now and no problems that are major at all. It was built by BUBBA and not Polaris.

My 2002 Kawasaki 650 Prairie had a number of belt issues, 4 belts in 4000 miles. Polaris never ate belts like that.

good luck................handycap

That can happen to even your car.

Thanks for the response everyone. Some good points and well taken; there is a strong following of Polaris riders no doubt. I will say this when it comes to comfort I don't think anything is as comfortable as my Sportsman. I've rode Artic Cat, King Quads, Bombs and sat on most every other brand.

Hopefully everything will be fine after the warranty is up.

Thanks,
bpipes
