Default 700lbs ok to catch air?

between fluids and yourself you are closer to 900 pounds. catching air is easy, landing without damage to you or the machine is another matter. realistically you are asking a lot of the chassis and suspension, I wouldn't make a habbit of it. every now and then I grab a little air myself on a nice hump in the yard, there's an apple tree about 10' to the right upon landing. when my wife catches me she always warns that someday I'm gonna nail the tree. let's hope she is way off on this one!

I jump my 500 a lot in a dirt ramp, its fun but dangerous, you have to know where to sit and how hard you can hit the ramp. I can tell where it hits the hardest and it isn't very good on the quad. Just don't expect to have some hang time, its not an aerial dynamic designed quad.

I forgot to tell, the drivetrain is the hardest of the impact, if you are still in the throttle or off when you land the wheels have to match the speed of the ground again. So if you are about 15 mph then go airborn and rev up to say 30 them the drive train will have to jerk ,grind ,and wear parts to catch up. Of course its not good on the suspension.

I usually blip the throttle on take off and then let off in the air and use it to bring the front up a little if needed. Sounds like a lot to do. But it is second nature and it is easier said than done to some.
