I was looking to grease the steering stem on my 01"HO Sportsman 500 today and found that there wasn't a lower grease fitting, am I missing anything here? Or is it just that the new setup is a sealed bearing and there is no fitting? Also is there an easier way to grease the upper fitting, it seems to be hidden quite well under the front couling, please don't tell me I have to remove everything in order to get a couple pumps of grease in there.

If you crank the bars clear one way or the other, you can get to the top zerk that way. Gives you just enough room (barely). Bottom fitting, I have no idea.

You’re right, on the ’01 HOs Polaris eliminated the lower grease zerk on the steering stem. I’m guessing this is because they went to a bearing at the bottom rather than the plastic bushing that used to be there, but that’s just a guess.
