I just bought the big flat gas can and rack holders that hold it on its side behind your rear rack from Cabelas. I haven't installed it yet, but i think I will like it a lot because it won't take up rack storage space, and I no longer have to carry gas cans in my rear hard case.

I have the Kolpin flat gas pack. I love it but only bring it on long trips. We go to the hatfield mcCoy trails in west Virginia and on some of those trails its nice to have that security... I picked it because it fits perfectly on the back rack of my sportsman 500...if it meets your needs you cant go wrong..Good Luck

I have the Koplin model; and it travels well. I have used it also on the front rack with my pack sitting on top. I strongly suggest getting the pack holders though; it keeps it mounted more solid. The only slight problem it has; is when it comes to pouring since it is so long. A fellow around here rigged up a feed line with a shut-off tap so he doesn't have to pour it manually. He just puts the line in the bike tank, and turns the valve on.

there is a screw on the other end of the tank opposite of the drain to vent

i have a pack and it works great but you do have to make sure that it is strapped down tight or it will fly all over the place

They work great because they are so easy to stack more stuff on top of. Polaris500HO4x4 is right they have to be strapped down very well otherwise they are all over the place. I would suggest the mounting bracket that is offered with it. I will be picking up the mount here as soon as I have a couple of extra bucks.

So you have to manually vent it? No vent tube or anything like that?
