I'm planning on changing my oil completly out on my Trailblazer 250 03. I noticed coming off of the tank is the hose with a nut conacting the hose to the tank. Im thinking the best way to drain the oil out of the tank is to just undo this nut and remove the tube and drain. Is this right. Then should I drain the tube or just leave the old oil in the tube. I didnt want to create an air pocket or anything. The oil that is in it now is from the factory and I believe that it is not synthetic. Its blue but didnt they send it from the factory with that mineral based stuff. So it might be good to drain the tube and get rid of as much old before adding new. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Be sure you prime the oil line after you hook it all back up by bleeding the oil line at the oil pump.

 

Just a thought, but I thought Trailblazer 250's were 2 stokes?

 

Do NOT take any lines off. You WILL get air in the system and it will cause engine damage if you don't know how to bleed the system.

The blue Polaris oil is good stuff but if you wish to change over to the synthetic just run it a while untill it gets low and fill it up with synthetic.

Or you could syphon the old oil out.

The 250 is a 2 stroke. Im taking the old polaris blue oil out of the oil container and replacing it with a synthetic. The oil in the container is fresh and new. I just want to run it with a synthetic. These machines dont go through enough oil during a season of riding to amount to anything. It would take me 5 years to go through all that oil. I've had it since 03 and still its full. . I just dont put enough hrs on it. I guess it wont hurt to mix the synthetic with the blue. I'll syphon it out I just want be able to get whats out of the tube. I guess that little mix want hurt anything huh.

 

So, your basically saying you want to take the polaris blue oil out of the oil resevior and add new oil?

If you want it out this is a fast way and effective. Get a suction gun. They look like a grease gun in a way. Suck out as much as you can and refill. You should be able to buy one at a parts store.

 

Good idea on the suction gun. I've decided to keep what I have and hope that I go through alot of oil this riding season, then when it gets real low just add what I want like someone suggested. I'm sure that want be for a couple of years, but I dont want to screw up something by getting air in the line. Thanks for all the advise. I guess like they say. If it aint brooke dont fix it.
