stiff primary

Default stiff primary

can too stiff of a primary spring cause any problems?

Yes it can cause ALOT of belt slippage and wont shift all the way out. When you go to a stiffer spring you should change the weights to get full shift and better belt grab.

Too stiff of a primary on the engagement poundage will make you'r bike engage much higher in the rpm range. (Maybe good for you maybe bad?) Too stiff on the shiftout will make you'r bike turn much more rpms. Your bike will only make good HP at a certain target rpm range and you wouldnt want you'r engine to turn enough rpm to blow. Give Rick Ritter a call at Ritter Cycle Racing he will get you the right spring , provide free tech help and you'r spring will only probably cost $20-$30. Why monkey with it.

i have a stock one in now, but i have a stiff one from another clutch. the stiff one is black
