Hey guys~
I really want to get a pipe for my Scrambler, but my dad strongly believes it would hurt the reliability. Yes, I already know to get an HPD or RCR pipe...probably HPD. Have you guys found that modifications hurt or help reliability? Also how many miles have you put on since adding any mods? I know a lot of you have mods and do mostly trailriding, which is basically all I do, so any replies would be greatly appreciated.

I used up a belt on my Scrambler before getting a HPD pipe and clutch kit, V-forces and a roller from Aaen. After, it seems to hook up better and I have had no further problems. The way I feel is that it is more reliable than before.

Take it easy Killer!!!!

I've had my mods over a year now, and I've had no problems whatsoever. I also installed a Wiseco piston and a DaycoMax belt when I did the mods. Stick with the HPD pipe and you wont be sorry.

The pipe will give you significant gains.

Adding just a pipe should'nt hurt. It will only raise the RPM's by a couple hundered. Reliability is not an issue as much as maintenence. You keep an eye out on things and keep her clean, you should'nt ever run in to any problems other than wear. Hell, adding a full race set-up would not change the reliability unless the user did not know how to compromise w/ his new setup. Any idiot w/ a race moded bike is going to whine and complain b/c his bike does'nt run right. This is simply b/c he does'nt know how to adjust to maintaining his new modifications. In my opinion, as long as you know how to take care of it and do routene adjustments/maintenence, then just about any mod should be OK.

Study up!

BTW, buying the pipe is like breaking the barrier and having SEX. Once you get the first piece, your want for more will never end!!!!!!!!

WIscrambler, This may be a stupid question but, here it goes. You do know that Wis. has recently banned aftermarket exhaust systems don't yah? I've already removed my pipe for winter ridding in Wis. trails are the best.

Hey MNXPLORER~
Yes, I am aware of the unfortunate exhaust laws here in WI. I guess my next question would be is there some way to lessen the tinny ping sound of an aftermarket pipe??? I thought I heard of some tape the pipe can be wrapped in to dampen the noise. If it looks like a stock pipe, and sounds like a stock pipe, who will know it isn't a stock pipe!?! Only the person riding it!!
