97 Scrambler 400 Mods
#1
I have seen all of posts on this site about modifying the Scrambler 400. I mostly ride trails and would like a little more power from my scrambler.
I was thinking of a pipe and reed valve modification.
what is the best recommendation for pipe and reeds? Or what else. I still want the quad to be reliable.
Any help would be much appreciated.

If I were you, I would put the HPD pipe and silencer on it, and add the HPD clutch kit. I would also install the air-box mod from RcR. And finally the Delta V-Force reeds. Ride it for a while, and decide if you want to get into the porting and bigger carbs.

I agree 100%
Remember to get the clutch kit when-and-if you get the pipe. There is no use in adding extra power if your not going to do the mods to get it to the rubber! I can not emphasize clutch work enough.
At first, I waited to get the clutch kit, and now I wish it were something I had done w/ I first got the pipe .
