anyone know with is faster

 

my 02 i had would go faster then a guys i rode with that had a 500. way under powered.

 

The cat will be faster. Not trying to be bias, but its true. Its still that way, my 06 650V2 outruns my buddies 700sp. But his is lower geared in low, and has a more comfortable ride.

 

I disagree v2rider... the sportsman 500 is said to be the king of that class and the most powerful. I believe that it is even powerful enough to make up for the weight difference between many other 500's, and there is hardly a weight difference between the sp and the ac.

 

in the 500 class I would guess the polaris to be faster than the cat 500 auto. I own the cat 500 and it only tops out at 55mph. if your buying a cat for speed your buying the wrong atv. the cat 500 engine is the same as the suzuki vinson engine. the cat 500 manual will have a faster take off than either of them though
