Default Front end question

Just got my Sportsman 700 and was giving it another once over and changing all the fluids. So this is my question.

The front end third member(is what it is call on a truck) where the 2 shafts going to the wheels go into this is it supposed to be a bit of slop there. If i grab the yoke i can move it a little in a circle(not twisting it around) like up down back forth sort of . Is this is the norm for these front ends and how much play should be there?
Thank you

I'm not sure what your talking about. Are you talking about where the axels go into the hubs?

Default Front end question on a 700

The front gear box It has one power shaft going in and one going out to each front wheel hub. there are universal joints just before it goes into the caseing (not the end with the cv boots) the part with the awd system. Just wondering on how much play(slop should be there.
Thanks for the reply. This is my first quad, and i wanted to make sure things are OK before i take it out this weekend

You and me both on the first Quad. I'll look at mine tonight if I get a chance and let you know if I have any slop. I would think the CV joints would be tight. I think there both the inner and outer joints are CV joints just different types.

Both sides of my diff are a little bit loose, I would like to take it apart, and see if there is a bushing or a bearing that can be replaced. I am pretty sure that water gets in there. I have a little bit of a rust (?) trail below these seals. From what I have heard, a bit of slop is normal.....
