Pulling the trigger on a 4x4 Hawkeye
06LimitedPred,
That's a pretty good price. My brother paid around $4850 locally. My nephew doesn't know how cool he is. He is 10yoa and has a brand new, really nice little trail quad there. I have ridden it a few times and really like it. Let us know what you think.

It seemed strong enough, but after driving it, it is severly underpowered. The ultra low gearing is terrible, it seems like it has power down low but will barely, and i mean barely turn over the rear wheels on loose dirt. It accelerates very slowly and seems to be revving very highly to do it. Top speed seems to be about 35. I expected this 300 to have more power, my 325 i just sold was weak and it had more power than this thing, my step fathers 330 has tons more power, this 300cc engine is pathetically weak. If you only want to drive around at about 5 mph then maybe, it will work for you, if you intend to do anything else i do not recommend it.

06LimitedPred,
It really sucks that you're having problems. I live at about 800 feet above sea level. My nephew's will run right at 50 mph with me on it. It has good low end and accelerates well. By what I understand they should run okay up to 6000 feet on the stock jets. What is the dealer saying?

50mph? Holy cow, after i break it in more, i'll try running it on the blacktop and see what it will do, but it's straining to run at 30, i can't see it getting much faster, but it's more for my kids and i don't really need them running that fast anyways.

I do understand a couple simple mods will open it up a bit though...
