Yes, you will get better engine breathing (and probably a little more power). But water will enter the airbox very easily. If you ride in a dry place (no water or mud), you can do it. I ride in sand/mud/water taking off the snorkle would make me gain lots of power but I don't do it since I don't want water to enter the engine.

first thing you do is throw the stock air filter in the garbage, and install a Uni-Filter. The air intake is different on the TrailBlazer than the Scrambler. I've heard of some guys cutting the intake snorkel vertically in front of the filter to get more air. If you do a lot of wet riding, I might advise against this.
