artic cat 300 4x4 or hawkeye 300 4x4
I'm looking at picking up one of these quads and was woundering which one is best. The artic cat is a 2003 model which I had to search to find(they stopped making them last year) but comes with everything the polaris has except the auto trans [which I don't want, too many belt problems] and a front locking diff which I have read that you can make it a locking diff with a little work. It has a cluchless 5-spd with Hi \ low \ superlow range. The biggest kicker is that the artic cat has a special for a two year warrenty which is pretty unbeatable!!! any advice on this would be extremly helpfull.thanx alot!

I don't know much about the hawkeye, but the AC is a bullit proof ATV, that engine has been around for a long time. You won't set any speed records, but it will always get the job done for you. Good luck

Well, i have a suzuki kingquad 300, and it the same thing as the articat minus the disc brakes.
its a great little quad, the supper low rang is great for pulling stuff, and because it has such a low center of gravity you can not flip it, unless you try hard.
myn tops out at about 55, and that not bad, the 4x4 is cool , but you cant lock the diff unless your in supper low range, but you can modify it if you want.
bad things,
the irs is very strange. the oil is a pain in the a$$ to check because of the glass window...... insted of a dip stick. somtimes the rear wheel bearings can wear out fast(strange IRS's fault).
and the shifter is on a cable to the tranny, and somtime the cabble slips of the trany post,(hard to get back on)
but other then that oits a great little quad, it pulls like an OX.
hope i helped.
i have never ridden a hawkeye, but im sure coming from polaris its a good quad.
Fred.

I was just looking at a kvf 360 4x4 (prarie 360). Its a little more money but seems like a better overal bike with a few more options. It's quite a lot more though (the hawkeye and the artic cat were $ 6000 plus tax came to around $ 7000 and this one comes to $8550 out the door) any suggestions.
