Ranger VS Rino
#1
I have a friend that has a new 700 ranger and its nice. I have another friend that has a Yamaha Rino. We have put that Rino to Hell and he has never had a problem with it. What do you all think of the Ranger compared to the Rino. I want to get one for around the house but not sure what to get yet.

That would be a hard choice for me to make. I have some time on both machines and they are both very good.
It would depend on what you intend to do with it.
For playing and trail riding only I would think the Rhino would be slightly better.
For working the Polaris would be better.

i've seen a ranger 500 keep pace with a rino and go even more places in really rough trails.the only problem is they are wider and heavier. you can get a rino in a shortbox if you want.i think they are both excellent machines.try to find a buddy with one and see what you like.also the seats are quite different;you sit in a proper race type seat in the rino but the ranger is more like a bench(seats three though).

You can forget about any help from the (NO-SERVICE Polaris Factory) PLEASE get all the extra warranty you can buy. 2006 Ranger 700 6X6 new in April 2006; it has approx 130 hours to date. It has broken every time I've taken it out and had to be returned to the dealer for repairs, except for the first ride and the last two times since getting back from the dealer (in shop for 1½ months). I've had to return 2 weeks early on both my hunting trips in 06 and 07 and all but 3 trips to our cabin because of mechanical failures. I do not trust going out without anther vehicle with us. The shop has been great on repairing it however; I do not feel this machine will ever be reliable; its been in the shop for repairs approx 3 months since purchased. I am 63 years old, retired and I baby this Ranger all the time. I worry constantly when going the 2 -1/2 miles to our cabin. I strongly suggests anyone with thoughts of buying one, get the extra warranty. I paid $14,999.00 including full cab and tires and another $500.00 for an extra 2 years warranty.
