I talked to a neighbor and he just got an offer. He was offered a 350 4x4 for $2000. He is looking for a 4-wheeler & liked the Polaris but doesn't know much about them. He said in general appearance it looked in good shape, not beat up, and it ran very well and the 4-wd worked well. He didn't know the year, but said it had the linear shift instead of the e-z shift. I told him if it was the liquid cooled model that I thought it was a decent buy. They are giving him a coiuple days to think about it. Since he doesn't have internet, I offered to see what you guys thought. I always got good advice so far & told him you wouldn't let me down. Now don't make a liar out of me, OK.

I believe that 1992 was the last year polaris used the 350 motor. Polaris changed to the bigger bore to accomodate the growing sport and not because there were problems with it. I have several friends who owned the 350 and at the time and they were fairly reliable. As you know polaris is always making changes in the pursuit of perfection and consequently the newer, the more reliable they are. Sorry but I can,t help you out more than this but i am sure there must be several owners who still ride the 350.

PS. The 350 is the older version of todays xplorer, with the squarer body design, 2-stroke, 3 chains.

There generaly a good ride hell it will beat a sp 500 with out to much trying As long as the chains and sprockets a re good and the oter is still strong i would really consider it. How many miles on it ? it might might be wise to put in a new piston before it breaks that was a real common thing one the older polaris 350.

Well I have one it is a 1993 Liquid Cooled 4X4 350

I got it used about 6 months ago for 2200

Runs GREAT. goes through anything. I am truley impressed with it... The only problem I have had was the spedo cable broke and the chain was streatched... but I replaced both and it is fine now...

Actually, 93 was the last year of the 350. I had a 94 400. The 350's were known for having transmission problems. They gave the 94's a different set up. The engines are supposed to be very good though (from what I've heard). I do know someone who still has a 93 and loves it. I'd say check the tranny carefully and if it feels solid and shifts cleanly it's probably a good bike. I loved my 400 and only sold it to get my 500 6x6. HTH

I have 93 350 and yes it was the last year they had it. Went to a 400 in 94. It has been a GREAT 4-wheeler and I haven't had any trouble with it at all. I have maintained it well, kept it greased. changed the fluids reguraly. The only thing I have done is replaced the chains. My wife keeps trying to get me to trade it in on a 4 stroke but so far I just can't bring myself to do it. It has been such a reliable, fun bike to ride that I am reluctant to get rid of it. Don't get me wrong, I also LOVE my 99 Sportsman RSE but tell your buddy that he wont be disappointed with the 350

I have a 94 400. It has been a good bike. I replaced all 3 chains and 6 sprockets as a precautionary measure. It is a reliable bike. I've never had to walk home!

My 350 is great. It has been severley abused for eight years. It was still running strong before I rebuilt it this summer. Now it runs even better than new. The only thing that I have not liked is the brakes. They suck. Other than that it has been the most reliable machine I have ever owned.
