not trying to advertise for him by no means, but i know how hard it is to get ahold of one of them damn intakes!!!

think you maybe talking about his reed cage conversion
this intake acts as a spacer so you can run a larger carb boot.
a larger carb boot is needed for the larger carbs.
you can boil the stock carb boot to fit the 44mil lectron, but the problem is the bigger carb will hit the tranny (at least for non concentric drives)
this intake offsets the carb so the carb will just bearly go overtop the tranny.
so in essence its kind of a must if you own a non concentric drive and want to run a 44 mil lectron
