does anyone have a sportsman 500 remington edition? and what do you think of these machines. im new to this bike and would like to know how they are for reliability. i do a lot of hunting by myself and don't feel like walking out of the bush with a deer on my back.
thank you

I have a 99 sportsman 500 remington edition, and a 1996 Sportsman 500. A buddy has a 2000 remington 500. I love the machines, I deer hunt, turkey hunt and do some camping. The ATV has never let me down, I also do a lot of riding on Trails. I just went to the Badlands in Attica,IN this weekend, I did get stuck once but the atv was in mud up to the top of the fender, just winched myself out and kept riding... Love it!

Brownweiser, all I use is the Polaris synthetic 4 for the engine, and the synthetic hub oil, make sure you check the front hubs for oil or you will be replacing wheel bearings. As for the grease, I use Valvoline synthetic grease. Proper maintenance means fun and reliable ATV. Also definitely grease all the u-joints.
