I have owned my 325 magnum a little over a year now and never heard anything engine wise to hint at a problem. After snorkeling the pvt (intake and exhaust) i hear a tapping noise from the intake snorkel at low rpms...gets very faint as I give it a little gas...Outside of the sounds coming up the snorkel the engine sounds fine.....Really hoping I don't have rod/main bearing problems...Anyone else with a intake snorkel notice this? Thanks

I wouldn't know what the tapping might be but, I recommend a oil and filter change asap if you think you may have gotten water into the crankcase through the intake or exhaust.

Good luck

Rd,
I dont think you got anything to worry about. I've snorkeled MANY Polari' and they usually develop this noise. You can stop the noise by pulling the PVT cover and replacing the bronze bushing in the primary clutch "outer plate" Its about a .75 cent bushing thru Polaris. The one i'm talking about is on the primary clutch; the plate on the end that has (6) 1/4" bolts and there is a larger (7/16 or 3/8) bolt that goes thru the middle of it. Remove those bolts and take that plate off, look at the center hole on that plate and you will see a bushing in there.
Honestly, except for being noisy as it echoes thru the snorkel, it doesn't hurt anything. I would go ahead and buy the bushing, and next time you decide to change the belt or make clutch adjustments, just remember to install it then.
Also, you CAN take some "open cell" foam and put in the end of the pipe to quiten it some, just don't use so much that you restrict airflow.

Thanks SO MUCH mudmachine for the detailed response....i feel better now.And thanks RacerX...The local polaris dealer actually laughs at me for changing the oil, filter and fluids so much but as much as I run in water I figure thats the best way to minimize the abuse I put it through. Thanks again...rdrd...

My friends Magnum was doig that. Tapping at idle, which would quit once moving. The front clutch buttons were wore out on it.
