warm the engine up a little bit, turn it off. pull the drain plug out from the engine (6mm allen wrench). let it drain all out, then put the plug back in, pull the filter off.

i use a Napa filter, Select 91357, or Gold 1357. for oil i used to use the Polaris 0W40 synthetic. you need 2 quarts of oil to fill it. but keep checking as you add oil, as some oil might not come out, and you don't want to have it over filled. fill it so it is in the safe area on the dipstick.

the oil change is a really easy job, just take your time and you'll be fine.

Sidekickmechanic700,

Good directions.

For TRX450rKid41 info. To check the oil level after change, he should check level with dip stick screwed in - correct?

with the 700 dipstick, check it by sliding the dipstick in all the way, but do not bend the pressure lever over(the lock system for the dipstick).

Any good name brand Synthetic oil will work just fine and it is as good or most of the time better than the Polaris oil.

I reccomend Castrol Syntec 5w50.
