What are the chances?

Here is a question that has occurred to me since having some problems with my front hubs kicking in unexpectedly without the four wheel drive button engaged.
What are the chances that when running wide open in 2 wheel drive that the hubs could kick in out of the blue, and with all that power being delivered to the front sprocket all at once the front drive chain snaps, bunches up in the front drive assembly jamming the front drive axles to an immediate stop at 75+ mph ?
Not a pretty picture, huh ?
I'm thinking a couple of weeks in intensive care and some serious plastic surgery would probably be in order.
I know you guys with '98 and newer machines don't have this to worry about, but what do you think the chances of it happening are anyway ?

Wouldn't happen. Why? Because if you are going 75+ I don't see how there would be enough wheel slip in the rear to ever get the front hubs to grab. Keep in mind that even with the power to the hubs 'on' they are not locked in until the rear wheels spin. Maybe if you were goung 15 MPH, with the rear wheels doing 30, digging your way out of a mudhole or something, but not at high speed.

The hubs can engage at speed, mine did once while riding on a gravel road, although i was only going about 40, i slowed to go around a sharp curve, one front hub immeadiatly engaged upon hitting the throttle again, and would not disengage... i came to find out the fluid was low, keep it in check!
