Default ATV Drag racing

Took My 2 kids to see some local atv dragin tonight, they loved it. Looked pretty fun to me too!! I have a 98 400 sport, you guys think I could hook it up to run with those 450rs and banchees and so-forth? it runs OK now, but really seems to me 2stroke 400 could perform a LOT better. I'm sure the factory exhaust is restrictive, and jetting could be improved, but what else, suspention?frame?gearing? let me hear from some of you who Know!!
By the way, ILOVE THIS SITE!!

You can look at all the mods i've got done to mine in my bio below. There are alot of things you can do to gain performance on the 400's. The first things I would do would be a pipe, clutch kit, jets, and reeds. That should get you off to a good start.

Start out in a stock class, make sure you like it. Then all it takes is money.

I cracked my piston a couple weeks ago so its in a few pieces now, seems to me a good time to start moding. what restrictions are there in stock class? no boring? I assume pipes and jetting is OK. also, someone explain the purpose of reeds to me, please.

a rebore should be ok. generally it means nor porting, head, carb or sprocket mods. pipes and certain frame mods are ok.

but it unfortunately depends on the track.

theres other kits besides the exterminator. look up HPD-Inc.
