Default Magnum 425 cooling fan woes

It's a '95 Magnum 425 4X4. The cooling fan quit spinning and through these very forums I learned that it's a fairly common occurance. The recommended fix was to remove the fan (HUGE pain in the kiester since Polaris tended to use rivets instead of nuts and bolts on this particular model), pull the fan motor apart and clean the brushes, and I should be good to go.

For some reason I have a fan motor that appears to be non-take-apart-able. It looks like the motor housing was slipped over the mechanics and then the housing was folded/bent over the end cap and tack welded. Just for giggles I connected the fan to a 12V power source and it spins about 1/2 the time there is juice to it with approx 100 RPM being the 'top speed'. I'm guessing it should spin a bit faster than that to provide sufficient airflow.

A new fan is right around $160 which is too rich for my blood. Any one here able to recommend a reputable electric motor repair shop I could ship this puppy off to? Or perhaps someone has a like fan sitting on a shelf collecting dust? Actually anything helpful to prevent me from having to spend big dollars would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help!

I thought I read somewhere where an individual took the fan to an auto parts store and was able to purchase one a lot less than the Polaris fan and it essentially was the same fan. I could be all wet on that though..??

Also may want to check a starter/alternator rebuild shop and see what they can do.
