Default Winch and brushguard install

Hey guys, I am picking up my SP500 efi this friday. I am planning on using it on my property this weekend as well. I bought a "pure"polaris Warn winch as well as brush guard, and rear tube bumper. I did not really wanna pay the labor to have them install it all.

any tips tricks, etc?

I have heard to use bolts and nuts to hold the brush guard instead of using the fastners supplied.

thanks for the help!

Default Winch and brushguard install

I just put all of the same accessories on my new camo 800. The winch install was very easy. The new winches are prewired so there isnt really any electrical work to be done other than plugging in a few wires. The front bumper is also pretty straight forward, althought the directions were a little confusing. I used all of the hardware that came with it. I put the bumper to test this weekend too pushing over some trees and it is still in good shape. Nothing bent or anything. The rear bumper has 4 bolts and thats it. I will try to get some pics up sometime soon of the final assembly.

Default Winch and brushguard install

One problem I had with the front brushguard install was that the directions said to use the wrong mounting holes for the 700. When I mounted the brushguard, is was not centered horizontally (the top bar was in the light path). I had to dremel a slot in each side of the plastic radiator guard to be able to lift it a little and use the right holes. Now, again, this was for a 700, the 06 500 may be different.

Other than that, the brushguard, winch and rear bumper were real easy to install. I also used all the H/W that came with it and have not had a problem.

i used the self taping w/ out any problems as so far. ran over some small trees and brush w/ no loosing as of yet. even took off the b.guard once and put it back on. the prewired winch is a breeze and alot less time to install then the other warn.

I wouldn't use the hardware that came with the brushguard.
I did when I installed mine and the hardware is rusting and unsightly.
I am going to replace it with stainless or black oxide.

Don't know the sizes.
But after you pick it up at the dealer stop at a hardware store on the way home and compare the ones in the box to some new ones.
