400 sport/tb slow?
#1
Why do the 400's have a bad name? I know alot of people with them and seem to like them, there are some issues with mine that i would like changed but over all i really like it , ive damn near every other quad out there and i still really like mine. Ill agree its not as light as most others, but lighter with this quad is not unattainable. ive gotten about 75 lbs off mine and I can really tell. other than lookes mines mildly modded, bored .040, over went up one size on the main jet, was running a little lean ofter airbox removal, uni filter, slaped on an old fmf silencer just for now to get rid of heavy stocker, premix , and thats basically it and i ran with a stock 660 raptor on pavement. We were side by side till i was wound out tight, about 70 mph or so and i will admit he still had 6th gear, but that dont matter to me i was just supprised i could keep up on a drag. he couldnt believe how fast my 400 was he just assumed like everybody else it was slow. Im just wondering why everybody assumes this.
Id like to hear you guys' .02 on the matter.

Anyone that knows polaris and has driven a 400 knows they are not slow. Even with a pipe, clutch kit and porting a 660 cant touch it. They are able to produce 90+ hp from this 2 stroke. It would be nice to see that 400 motor on a quad with dual a arm.

cool post man, keep it up,they will always be heavy but they do have power indeed, just keep thinking
about 'mods',they have alot of room to it,everything on this quad starting by
the clutch to the frame can be custom modified,to be ALWAYS faster.
