I seem to replace it about once a year. Isn't that too often?

Does it sit outside in the cold all the time? Cold is real hard on batteries, especially if they are not charged regularly. My 97 425 is on its third battery, my 03 700 still has the original.

I keep it in my back shop (unheated, uninsulated), but I also start it up periodically during the winter. I had it running about a month ago, and now I can't even get the starter to click.

Unless you ride it for an hour or more your probably not gettig the battery fully charged, try one of those battery tenders, they are a little trickle charger you hook up when not in use.

get one these and put a two wire flat plug coming off your battery.battery charger

charger

this is another one. if you use one of these your battery will always be fully charged and most likely last 2 or 3 years.

my wifes batt. in her t. blazer is 5 yrs old and finally replaced it. my 500 was 3 yrs old and never had a problem w/ it. they both sit in a unheated garage w/out starting them at all during the winter. just make sure the acid is full in the batt.a nd their charged good.
