Default three srorkles???

the intake and exhaust for the belt housing are to keep the belt and clutch surfaces cool, theres a certain amount of slippage that occurs on the belt drive and as a result alot of heat from friction.

if the belt drive is swamped in water the slippage increases greatly to the point of no power transfer. on the top of the cover theres a pipe thats square(exhaust) you will need to run this up so that water cannot backfeed into the housing. The same is true of the intake which should be on the bottom front of the cover running up to just before the gas tank.

extend both of these with pvc and pvc pipe couplers from a hardware store. I wouldn;t pay someone for this since all the snorkel kits Ive seen look home made(even the ones that were bought). not all machines need an exhaust snorkel as long as the motor is running in the water some however can't deal with the added back pressure of the water.

I agree with Rick though your going to increase the need for repairs bearings, balljoints, and seals don;t last nearly as long in muddy/wattery situations.

As long as you have it jetted right and don't use to small of a pipe for the air box snorkel I don't think you should lose any power. I'm in the process of snorkeling my 700 and took some pics today. I still have a couple hours worth of work to do to it. I used all 2" stuff for the snorkel.

Snorkel pics.
