Have you had it on a very step hill, or even turned it over?

They can do this when turned over, or put on an extremely uneven surface. Clean it out and ride it normal for a while, then check it again......

Well If you havent rolled it over and havent climbed a good share of steep hills, Its because of the Crank case breather.

What happeing is oil is getting to the top the crank case (AKA oil blow by) and it gets vacummed to the crank case breathe tube into the "dirt catchers".

Have you done a compression check yet?

It might have been left over for a reason.

Check your oil level. It might be too full. Not uncomon for some oil to get in there because that is where the crankcase breather is located, but if it's excessive, it probably because the oil was overfilled, or the bike has been turned over.

Do like ppope said...check the oil level and make sure it's not over the recommended levels, then clean everything out and run it for a while and check it again. I'll bet you find it's fine.

*agrees*

Had a buddy pick up an '03 used from a suzuki dealer. since the dealer didn't look into how your supposed to check the oil on the pred (run it for a minute, shut it off then check, otherwise it will appear low) they just filled the oil tank to the top. When my friend started riding it, the airbox was filled with oil up to his uni air filter. Good thing it was a UNI, since those are washable, no damage done... anyway, clean things up, and hopefully it's done w/ the overflow... otherwise, maybe change the oil and do it the right way. good luck! If it does keep happening...its from the crankcase breather. I had the same problem on my ds, the crankcase breather was located in the snorkle tubes and then oil gatherd in my airbox eventually and made a fairly big mess. What i did to fix it was move the crankcase breather tube to a different spot and put a little K&N filter on the end of it. Another thing...the reason i was having all the oil comming out of the crankase breather is because my piston rings were screwed because of a bomb factory mess up..i had good compression. got new piston installed, new jug, and a fixed up head and no more oil ever comes outta the crank case breather. That prob isnt your problem like the guys said it might have just been overfilled or tipped over.
