Default 800EFI Cold Spark Plugs

I was just checking the plugs on my 800 today and notice thease are the coldest plugs you can buy.
Why are they running such a cold heat range?
Has anyone bumped up the heat range any on there 800?

Also there almost imposible to buy,it came with Champion RC7YC plugs.

I'm thinking of moving up a notch because of the cold plug is so hard to find.

I just installed the Autolite Iriduim plugs one heat range hotter and, $hit it's a "You can feel it in the seat of your pants" improvment.

Now will it hurt anything?
I just ran it about one mile and then shut it off.

It's not the same heat range its one hotter

The NGK iridium plugs work great! I put those in my V2 and it really smooths out the idle, and the excelleration is better off the line.

You really don't need to run a hotter heat range plug unless the plug is fouling, and then only if you're sure that the engine doesn't have some other problem such as incorrect jetting. excessive oil consumption, clogged /dirty air filter, etc. Go to Champion,NGK,ND or Bosch's websites and check out the info about heat ranges and types of spark plugs. There's a lot of misinformation floating on the forum that the info on the spark plug manufacturer's websites will clear up for you.

I know I don't "Need" a hotter plug its that I broke one today and no one has the right heat range in stock.
It will take a few days to get them in.
the OEM plug looked ok white insulatoe and some even black carbon around the first ring (A litttle rich) but arnt all Polaris machine a little rich?

So, I bought some hotter plugs to try and dont want to mess anything up.
