do all preator 500s have reverse or is it just the 05 and up?

 

the 03s and maybe the 04s dont have reverse

 

yup, sorry, 05's and newer only. The '04s are actually very slightly quicker though, because they don't spin the extra weight of the reverse gear. (i've been told that anyway...)

 

05's and up only.... funny thing though... i have the 04' earnhardt edition and it has the spot for the reverse light in the dash piece.... i wonder if they were preparing for it or what.... anybody with an 03' pred have the spot for the reverse light? if not then they must have been getting ready for it... just wondering...

 

well the predator was one of the first sport quads with reverse no? i think they decided to beat everyone else

Raptors had reverse in 01..along with Warriors and 300ex's from way back when.

 

maybe polars thought the predator was going to be the MX king, then realized the raptor was its competition?

 

spyder6, I believe you are right. Polaris seemed to refocus how the Pred was presented after the 450 class took off.

Oh, and my '86 Quadsport had reverse, same with the first year '85 model, so Suzuki would be the one to claim first sport quad as well as first sport quad with reverse.

 

yup, once the 450's were released they put reverse in it to sell to trail riders and such

 

The 03' also has the spot for it. I don't really like going backwards in a quad I am glad they have it on some. Because some people need it I would rather jump off and pull it around than go backwards. But to each their own.
