My first new truck (10 miles).
06 Dodge Ram ST 1500 4X4 Reg. Cab Long Bed, Hemi 5.7 Multi Dissplacement, Auto, 3.55 Rear Axle, Tow Group, Cruise, Cloth 40/20/40 Bench Seat. CD and Air included. OTD minus taxes and plate....$22,100, MSRP $29,505. I pick it up Saturday morning! Near as I can tell they claim (MPG)18 highway and 14 city.
Any reviews?
Thank's,
Luke

Can't give you a review, but congrats on the new truck. It is an awesome feeling to be the guy to put the first butt groove in a new truck seat. Good luck sleeping until she is home safely.

Congrats! I love my Ram so far, the only drawback is the Dodge sits so high you need a quality ramp to load up with. The Hemi works well. I get about 15 highway and 11 city, but my truck is an '05 with 4:11's and is much heavier than yours, so it should get about what you figure.

why the 3.55s? do you mean on keeping the stock height tires? I have found that any thing less then 3.73 is rather useless in a truck. IMO. I tend to tow a bit heavier stuff then quads though. my 98 chevy 3/4 and 4.33s seems to do everythign and more I ask it too.
must feel nice to have only 10 miles on it from the dealer I have a pick of my quad with 1 hour on it from the dealer. I was so happy. I have never bought a new car/truck. so I cant imagine how cool it would have been.

My dad has an 06 quadcab with the new multi-displacement hemi and he's been getting 17 in town. He's towed 12,000 lbs. with it already and has the 3.55 gears and has plenty of power.

six6six,
Good talking point on the 3.55 rear axle and tire size. Can't say I can speak to it from experience. The tires are small looking and I'm sure I'll go taller but not crazy tall - just normal tall. Stock is 265/70 on 17's.
I went with the 3.55's for milage considering I went with the Hemi to make up for power. I don't have anything to tow, or plan on it. I just want to have the option should I wish to tow. The factory tow package includes the larger radiator and trany cooler. It will tow a good size I think even with the taller tires. It will normally see the Polaris as pay load. I was thinking unforeseen heavy loads could be towed just fine.
With the price of gas I decided to sell my 2 cars and old truck and buy 1 new one. It was too much the luxury to tab, tire, maintain and insure all 3 anymore. They were all high milage.
This truck will have to do it all; take me to work 35 miles each way, haul the Polaris, long seasonal holiday trips (250 each way) and hopefully be reliable. With all that considered, I went with the larger motor and the 3.55.
Having heard the expected use, what tire size do you suggest to keep with it? Sincerely, Lukester
