Default Fan bearings

Is it a common thing for fan bearings to go. My atv is new and the fan bearings are gone already. I never had any problems with my old atv's in the past, why now. I wonder if there might have been a problem from the factory. You know the problems that the new 500 efi's had with the hot light. It was because too much power was going to the fan causing the hot light to come on. I'm wondering if the fan bearings had problems from the beginning and polaris decided that a quick fix would be the resistor kit. A bad bearing would cause it to work a little harder and maybe triger the hot light. Does this sound correct.

The hot light issue the 500efi's had did not have anything to do w/ fan bearings. Sounds like you just got a bad fan. Warranty will cover it.

Why else would the fan be making so much noise. I can't find anything wrong with it.

like sportsmanee said most likely a bad fan to begin with. take it off and spin it and you sould be able to feel it if the bearings are bad.

I spin it around and it seems good. No resistance.

Just got back from the shop and they replaced it without testing it. That's ok I guess. I'm still going to sell it thought. Too many problems and don't want more.

It is realy too bad that polaris started selling atv's that break down so much. I was a good customer that bought many atv's from them.( every year or so ) They have to start thinking about there customers instead of there wallets. Making there product cheaper all the time is not good. I would rather pay more for someting good than cheeper and get what I pay for. I should have realized that more people from here were buying arcticcat than polaris. I have been at atv rally's this year and only seen a few polaris and they all were old one's. That was not always the case. Polaris used to rule the trails and mud holes but I guess all good things have to come to an end.
