Which of these two get better traction in mud? What is the tread depth? And how do they ride on trails????

I know that the 589's won a mud tire shootout a while back, I also know the tread depth is 1.25 and they have a good hardpack ride. The vampires have a 2 inch tread depth and have a bad hardpack ride, and the both get excellent traction in mud.

589 I have heard a few good things about. However most use the Vampires and Tir- Claws. In the last Mud shootout I read which I admit was about 3months ago, these two tires finished 1 and 2. Good luck on your choice, just be thankful we have so many :-)

I put the 26" Titan 589s on my 500 sp, I haven't done to much riding on them, but they go thru the mud really well and the seem to track down the hard pack well.

It all depends on the riding you do. If you ride on hardpack more than in the mud go for the 589's. Other wise, if you would like an outstanding tire in the mud go Vamps. I ride on both hardpack and in the mud and have yet to see any tread wear. These are both great tires but the Vamps were my choice.
