What quad should I buy? Sp700 or 800

your 800 is going to eat through gas so fast you wont belive it in your first 2 tanks of gas. then it will start to get better. once its broken in you should see about 75 miles max out of a tank.
congradulations on your buy though, you wont regret it! you'll love it! the 800 i sa complete dream to drive and it sounds awesome too

Gas, gas I laugh at gas, my other ride is a "hemi" this is nothing. My truck will take near 100.00 when empty which is about every ten days. I never complain about filling a quad or Harley tank its only money......

You bought it at 6 and was on the trails at 6:30, don't you have to worry about breaking them in? My wife and I just bought a black/silver 06 sp 700 EFI twin about a week ago, and we have been babying that thing this whole time. By the way, congrats on the purchase!

Yeah, I was just wondering. Some people baby them until they have run two full tanks of gas through them. Other people run them as hard as they can as soon as they get the quad. I just didn't know if there was a real set way of breaking them in or not, or if it really makes a difference. Then again, it is an expensive machine, and I'd really hate to screw something up from the start because I couldn't wait to break it in properly.

The only thing the dealer suggested was to not hold the throttle wide open for long periods of time to get the speed up. Although we did some rock climbing and puddle crossing we took it easy, like they suggested for the first 20 hours or so. My best friend ran out this morning and picked up the exact sam quad as I did. So we all rode tonight. Just got in now after a few beers, that was of course after the quads were washed and put away, its been a great week.

I guess I must be too **** about our quad. It hasn't even seen a trail yet. I have been just driving it up and down the dirt road and also through the trail in the weeds. Just under 3 hours and a hair over 17 miles. I guess its time to do some trail riding and get it dirty.
