2007 Models and Questions??
#1
Ok, first click on 2007 models. Then click on the Sportsman700EFI. Then use the "zoom" thing and zoom in on where it says "Sportsman 700" and you will see it says "Sportsman 700 H.O." What does this mean? Also, the '06 700 weighs in at 761lbs. Then '07 weighs in at 748lbs. Where did the small amount of lbs go? Next, You all keep talking about the ADC (active decent control) Is this the 4 wheel engine breaking we've all been waiting for? If so, can this be added to an '06 700/800? As im sure many people will want this done. Another thing, is the 700EFI not available in Camo for '07? Thats stupid. And on the website, it dosent off the "deluxe" feature for the 700EFI either, yet it does for the 500 and 800. And the standard 500EFI for '07 weighs 728 while the '06 EFI weighs 715. Man, they are piling on the weight in the utility class. This is making our machines slower and slower. I mean, i thought, IF ANYTHING, they would shave some of the weight off. Anyhow, im a fan of the weight, but i didnt think we neeed anymore. I guess the ADC can contribute to this, but geez, 50 more lbs for engine breaking is alot. I have some more questions but can't think of them right now lol. yeah.

No no no, i realize/know they get along JUST FINE, im asking, why did they put " H.O." there which stands for a "High Output Engine" when the engine hasnt changed at all? And what i meant to say on my first post was, on their website for '07 they dont offer or show the deluxe version for the 700?

They do have some screwups but the 700 is not one of them. The 700 is not offered in a deluxe version. The screwups I found was in their specifications on the specific models. Like I posted on another thread the weight for the 800 x2 made no sense vs. the 800 efi vs. the 500 x2 etc. BUT I have reasoned it out. If you go to their online brochure then go the last page you will find the correct specs for all the models. The weight for the 800 x2 stand/delx is 839/874 for example. HMMM the picture gets clearer????? As for the HO/TWIN chalk it up to... artistic license yeah that's it.

So the 700 gets cheated why? It makes no sense at all for them to offer something as important as Engine breaking on all 4 wheels (ADC) for some models, and then not offer it on others. Ugh this is killing me. Anyway, you see what im talking about with the 700H.O.?? I couldnt tell by your reply.

There is something going on because the 700's say HO on them. The black/silver and the green 800's say HO on them, but the blue and red show 800 TWIN. Somethin's up.

All i cans ay is that Polaris bit it hard this year.... The ADC is in the front diff something is changed in the hillard clutch.. My guess to retro an older model you would have to change the front diff.

I can't tell any difference in the speed of the two (04 vs 05). I have ridden many 800s, and I like it much better. Lots of fun, I was going to get a 800 if the lighted it up. The 800 like it is has TONS of lowend and plenty of midrange and topend.......

I see what you mean. Yeah i heard the '05s and up were a little bit more sluggish than the '04s but i couldnt understand why. Anyway so your advice to me is get the 800? I LOVE the power of my 700, but then again i havnt driven an 800. So the power difference is very noticeable? Ugh, i think im going to get the 800 now.
