polaris claims that the outlaw is the fastest accelerating atv out right now .... even though i'm a polaris fan i really doubt that

 

Acceleration and top speed are two different things. It is geared low to get that acceleration, so top speed suffers.

 

Nope. They have the acceleration charts in the '07 brochure and it tops out close to 80.

 

polaris is going to have to do some major changes to get in the big time racin world

 

i have come to the conclusion that alot of people on this forum are idiots. the Outlaw weighs the EXACT same as a Raptor 700, and the KTM 525, which is 510cc's AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN FROM KTM produces 61 horsepower at the CRANKSHAFT. its also 510cc's over the raptors 680 something, which means that it can build the revs faster, while it produces EVEN MORE TORQUE than the Raptor 700 motor AND the DS650 motor. this all means that its VERY VERY FAST and the Predator will be EVEN FASTER

im not saying their not fast their just not built right. the only person who is any good is matt smiley and hes not exactly fast. MX is a dream with these bikes because thats never going to happen.

i think BOTH ktm and polaris are smart enough NOT to go 450 racing with a predator chassis,i look for something alot lighter from them.the NEW 07 ktm 450 motor is also in the 60hp range
there best bet would be a new lighter chassis with better ego's,and offer both the 450 and 525
the predator chassis is pretty good imo,but no one wants to sit on a airbox,hunt for a brake pedal, and lean over the bars all the time
there is also a factory 580 bigbore kit for the 525[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

the old one (fuji 500) yes, but on the polaris brochure the 525 hits 75 exactly in 5th gear
