Just picked up a 2002 Scrambler 500 for $1300.

How much gearcase oil goes in this thing?

 

as in the tranny? or front gearcase?

the tranny holds 32oz. and i believe the front gearcase holds 8 oz.

Thanks, I just called the dealer!

They said 30 for the tranny, and 4 for the front diff? Wonder what is correct?

I guess I should have mentioned, I called 3, and got a different answers from each. The online supliment at Polarisindustries.com says 32oz for the tranny, that much overflows it!

Do you have a manual? What does it say?

ok... i dug out my manual,,,

heres all the fluid capacities listed:

32oz for the tranny
4oz for the front gearcase
2.5oz for front hubs
2 qt. engine oil
2.25qt engine coolant
3.5 gal fuel tank

The supplement I have for my '01 (PN 9916375) says 27oz for gearcase oil. Is there a difference between the two years? Maybe the online sup is wrong? Good luck.
