Default '05 800 EFI fuel pump

My bike was just diagnosed with a bad fuel pump. Polaris says I have to replace the fuel tank and the pump at $451 they won't sell the pump by itself. Does anybody know who's fuel pump it is (Bosch?) and a part number. I know they didn't engineer this pump for themselves it would be to costly. If anybody can help please, please let me know. This is rediculous just so Polaris can sleep better at night and not worry about fuel leaks. By the way this price doesn't include labor.

Thanks for your help!!!!!!

Since you have to replace it anyway why not just remove the tank and see if you can remove the pump first. It will allow you to see if the pump can be removed without damaging the tank before you buy a pump and find out different and you will be able to see which pump is used.

The mechanic who is working on it said the pump could be replaced without replacing the tank if he knew what pump it was they used. I'm looking at about a $700 or more repair with labor if I do it the Polaris way. I figured you guys may know of a pump since it sounds like it is a pretty common problem.

Thanks!

They want $450 for the tank with pump.

You said it would be $700 or more with labor.

The parts cost him about $350.

That leave him with a profit of $350 for about a half hours work.

I don't know how things work in Arizona but in Ky we would consider that a rip off.

if you cant take it apart your self, i'ld want to be damn sure that it was gone and not some fuse or broken wire or something simple. how do they know did they already work on it to test it?

Just a follow up to the other question, There is voltage to the pump but no pressure. They assured me before ordering the part they would check and make sure the sock/screen on the bottom of the pump wasn't restricted and that the pump didn't physically work.

Thanks
