Default New Predator owner???

Hey, I just purchased a left over 2005 LE predator and had some questions for you guys. The biggest problem I have with the bike is the lack of low end power ecspecially in the first part of second gear, its just not there. Other then that i'm loving it, so what do I need to do to get this thing to come alive. What disk setup are you guys running in your pure polaris pipe and what about intake, jetting, and gearing?

Buddy of mine just added a Civic intake with a K&N and he said it made a nice difference. He also ordered some more plates for his exhaust but he is still playing with that set-up. He is also looking at adding the Rath header that should help also.

i'll give it to you straight. nothing is cheap for this stuff, without going into engine work your going to be pushing like 5 or 600 bucks for all this stuff, but anyway, heres what you need to do.

pull your carburator and send it to Nicholas cycle (www.nicholascycle.com) for their Carburator race work. they jet it correctly, and soup up your carburator ALOT. this is seriously one of the best mods you can buy. many other predator owners on here will comment on its 'awesomeness'. also get a Nicholas Cycle TWIN AIR filter setup. this will remove your stock intake and clamp a foam filter right onto the carburator. yes it looks scary and exposed, but seriously, unless your fording a creek/river with water up over your tires your NEVER going to get that filter wet. i run a similar setup and its beatufiull.

then, go to Rath Racing (www.rathracing.com) and order one of his Stainless Steel racing headers. this is a fantastic mod because not only does it look good but it helps add the MUCH needed torque for the predator motor. its amazing.

as far as your exhuast, its up to you, but i reccomend the White Brothers E-Series with a Turn Down tip, or a White Brothers E2, or a HMF pipe. all fantastic, but on the loud side of things.

good luck!
